What is the CR 1-12 report?

CR 1-12 is a monthly electronic report on accommodation, filed with the Statistical Office of the SR through the zber.statistics.sk portal. It contains data on the number of guests and the capacity of the accommodation facility for the given month. The reporting obligation arises from Act No. 540/2001 Coll. on state statistics, § 18.

Who files it

Legal entities and natural persons with an IČO (business ID) — entrepreneurs, regardless of the number of employees or main activity — who are included in the Register of Accommodation Facilities of the Statistical Office of the SR and have provided temporary accommodation to tourism participants. The obligation therefore also applies to the owner of a single apartment, if they do business and are in the register.

An exception applies to natural persons providing accommodation under the “zimmer frei” regime — rooms in a private home outside the ordinary business regime. If you run accommodation through a trade licence or as an s.r.o. (limited liability company), however, this exception does not apply to you.

How do I get into the register?

The register is kept by the Statistical Office of the SR, which usually once a year approaches municipalities in order to update the list of operators and facilities in their territory. If you operate accommodation and nobody has contacted you so far, it is worth contacting the Statistical Office directly — otherwise you will find out about the obligation only retrospectively.
